We often get asked what does a typical bathroom renovation cost. People expect us to give a price but really it isn't that easy. Its a bit like being asked how much does a car cost, there are so many variables. The following factors will all have a bearing on the cost of a bathroom renovation: DIY or Professional Like everything you always have the option to pay a professional or to do it yourself. If you have the skills then going the DIY route can be an option and you will likely make a large cost saving. But you need to weigh this against what would you be doing with your time otherwise. If you take two weeks to complete the bathroom renovation and you could have earned €2000 elsewhere in that time then really that is what the labour element of the renovation has effectively...

So it looks like we will all be required to stay home for quite a few more weeks as we all play our part in flattening the Coronavirus curve. Why not use the time to research and plan your home improvements and a bathroom renovation. The starting point will be to accurately measure your current bathroom in the case of a renovation, or the space where you would like to install a new bathroom. Don't worry if you aren't comfortable doing this yourself, we can guide you through the process - we do this every day! Remember to always measure using millimetres (mm). Construction dimensions are always displayed in the same format, width across the front, then height, then depth. As an example, if you see 400mm x 600mm x 200mm, then this actually means 400 width, 600 height and 200 depth. Step one Draw a diagram of your...

If you are stuck at home with the current Coronavirus lock down you might want to use the time to do a deep clean on your house. With the run on cleaning products did you know you can get great results with some alternatives . It’s nothing to worry about, however, as by following our comprehensive guide, you’ll have a fresh and clean bathroom in no time. While the soda is sitting in the bowl, generously spray the cistern, the handle, the seat (the top and underneath), the lid and the outside of the toilet bowl/base...

Read our top tips on how to create a stylish, practical and functional bathroom in the smallest of spaces. 1. Wall Hung Furniture Hanging the sink and/or toilet on the wall means there’s more floor space visible to the human eye, which gives the illusion of space. Wall hung furniture also makes it easier to clean the bathroom floor properly as you can reach all of the floor without having to move furniture around. 2. Corner Sink A corner sink takes up less space than a standard wall hung sink. Bare in mind though that a corner sink isn’t always the best choice if the sink is being used for ‘proper’ washes. Most corner sinks are installed in en-suites or cloakroom toilets where their only function is for hand washing. 3. Tile Halfway Tiling halfway up the walls gives the illusion of taller walls and therefore more space. You can also...

The bathroom can be a busy place and clutter can build up quickly. If you want to de-clutter your bathroom and create more space in the process, read our top tips, put them into action and you’ll become the proud owner of a calm, peaceful and organised bathroom in no time. 1. Wall Hung Furniture Instead of storing your toothbrush, toothpaste and soap on or around the sink (which looks messy and makes it more difficult to keep the area clean), invest in some nice looking wall hung dispensers and or/cups to store them in. The simple act of removing products and toiletries off the surface of your sink, vanity unit or bath creates a much cleaner and open looking space. Small, wall hung shelves are also a good option if you don’t want wall hung dispensers. 2. Get Rid of Out of Date Toiletries and Cosmetics We’re all...
