Our Services

Over the last few months we have been very busy with new bathroom and in particular, wet room, installations. Wet rooms seem to be growing in popularity as people look to maximise space and reduce obstacles in their bathrooms. We have got Wet Rooms down to a fine art now, and are really enjoying working with the Wedi Wetroom products which allow us to deliver amazing results. The quality of these materials, coupled with our expertise at having done so many at this stage makes a potent combination. So much so we stand over all of our wet room installations with a 10 year guarantee. This Wedi Wet Room incorporated a bath and a shower over it. In the olden days you would have needed an unsightly shower curtain, but nowadays that is no longer required giving a much nicer appearance and saving space. See more...

Wet Rooms have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and with good reason; wet rooms can be incredibly stylish (when installed by the right people), can add value to your home and are also very easy to keep clean. But is a wet room right for your needs? Here we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a wet room installed so you can decide. Advantages of a Wet Room: They’re fantastic for creating space in a small bathroom as the bath is normally removed. There is usually no shower screen installed (although some people like to have one to separate the bathroom into specific areas). As well as creating space, this also gives the room a sleek and contemporary feel. Wet rooms are incredibly easy to clean as there are usually less corners and crevices (such as the shower cubicle) that require attention. They’re an...

As the economy picks up again and finding quality tradespeople becomes even more of a challenge how can you be sure that the people you are hiring to come and work fitting out a bathroom in your home are established and quality tradespeople? One place to start is to research how long the company has been in business for. This is easily done by running a search on the company registration website, www.cro.ie. This will tell you how long the company or business has been registered for and is a pretty good indication of longevity. However, in some cases and indeed, in our case it is a little more complicated. Our managing director Nigel Cresswell began trading back in 2010 as Nigel Cresswell plumbing and heating. At that time the business wasn’t purely focused on bathrooms, but also offered general plumbing services. Increasingly Nigel was asked to fit out entire bathrooms and he realised...

Need a bit of inspiration or direction? Read on to find out where and how to start… Reflect on your Needs Are you single, in a couple or family? Is this a main, household bathroom or a secondary bathroom? Make a list of the things you need from your bathroom and the things you want and prioritise them in order. For instance, most bathrooms need storage and this obviously varies in size depending on how many people use it; apart from the toilet, sink and shower, this would be a pretty high priority. ‘Want’ is something completely different; you may want a built in music system but you may not be able to afford it. Add it to your ‘want’ list and once you’ve budgeted you’ll be able to see if you can fit it in. Budget! It’s always good to have a very clear idea of your budget. Research...

There are many fantastic bathroom furniture manufacturers out there who offer great looking products at discounted prices, but while they may look good, unlike high end brands, their manufacturing quality may not stand the test of time. While we understand that many people are on a budget, installing low end bathroom sanitaryware and furniture into your home can prove to be a false economy, as lower end bathroom suites tend to only last a maximum of five years before they deteriorate and need replacing. Most high end bathroom brands such as Villeroy and Boch and Brausch have fantastic warranty and after sales care with their products and so are worth the investment. As well as this, installing a luxury bathroom into your home can add huge value to it and (according to research carried out by Home Insurance provider, Aviva) is one of the first thing...

Ensuites can be a practical and much-needed addition to any home: They can help ease morning bathroom traffic in a busy family home, add value to a property, and are simply a convenient addition for those who want to roll out of bed in the mornings, straight into the shower. Too often, however, ensuites can be something of an afterthought: pokey, dingy, tired and outdated, they are sometimes as welcoming as a broom cupboard. If you’re thinking of undertaking an ensuite bathroom makeover but are not sure where to start, or only have a small space to work with, then please read on for some ideas and tips. Compact Ensuites That Pack a Punch… You can still create drama in a windowless, narrow space as illustrated by one of our ensuite renovations in Wicklow. Here, we added turquoise tiling in the shower area. This not only adds a vibrant...
