Things to Consider when you Renovate your Bathroom

When it’s time to renovate your bathroom, there are a lot of factors to take into consideration.

Bespoke Bathrooms are a one stop shop when you renovate your bathroom, and we will help you along the way! However it is important that you think the following things through when deciding what you want from your bathroom renovation.

Design/Practicality

This is probably the main thing that you’ve been thinking about while making plans to renovate your bathroom. You will of course have ideas of how you want your bathroom to look, and what
functionality it will have. When you’re choosing things like tiles, colours and bathroom suites, you’ll want to end up with a room that reflects your personality and your needs – however you will also need to think about the limitations of your space, and what might be achievable (or not). You may have fallen in love with that beautiful, vintage style, freestanding roll top bathtub, but have you measured up for it? Will you be able to swing a cat in your new bathroom, or will you have trouble squeezing it in full stop?

Cost

There’s no getting away from the fact that when you renovate your bathroom, you’re going to end up spending a fair bit of your hardearned cash. What you need to decide is whether you want to go for the cheap and cheerful route, or something of a higher standard.

We all want to save money where we can, but when it comes to something as important as a bathroom renovation, it’s wise not to cut corners. The bathroom is a room that is heavily used, and quality will serve you better – and last longer.

We don’t claim to be the cheapest, but we do know that the quality of our workmanship is second to none – and our previous customers can testify to this. We can help you save money along the way too – for example, we can source bathroom suites for a reduced price as we buy in bulk from suppliers (however if you wish to provide your own, that’s fine too!).

Future Plans

It may seem a long way away, but when you renovate your bathroom you will need to think about what the future may hold for you and your home. If you ever plan to sell, it’s worth remembering this when you settle on the design of your bathroom and on what features it will have. Doing away with a bath altogether can make a home difficult to sell, as for many buyers this will be a deal breaker. Also, you may love your fashionably clashing tiling, but a prospective buyer may be completely put off. If you think a day will come when you upgrade to a new abode, consider choosing simple, classic styles for things that are harder to change (such as your bathroom suite, tiles and flooring), and express your individuality through paint, accessories and soft furnishings.
